Concrete Supplied In Borehamwood For Composting Shed

Procon Readymix was proud to be appointed as the concrete supplier for a specialist composting shed project in Borehamwood, delivering over 2,000m³ of C32/40 pump mix concrete reinforced with STRUX 90/40 synthetic fibres.

This advanced fibre-reinforced mix was designed to replace traditional A393 steel mesh, offering enhanced crack control, durability, and ease of placement—particularly beneficial for large slab pours. Over a focused three-day period, more than 800m³ of concrete was placed inside the composting shed, with the remaining volume used to complete the surrounding outer yard.

The project was delivered in close collaboration with Grace Construction Products, who approved the mix design and oversaw both the dosing of STRUX fibres at the batching plant and the on-site workability. Their involvement ensured that the concrete met all performance expectations and compliance standards.

The contract was completed on time and to the full satisfaction of the client, demonstrating Procon’s capability in delivering innovative, high-performance concrete solutions for environmentally focused infrastructure.
